Development Squad Training Camp in Australia

The New Zealand Orienteering Federation is supporting a Development Squad trip to Australia in January 2007. The dates of the trip are camp are 3 - 14 January, with the 5-Day event at Orange, 3-7 and a training camp following. Further details can be found at http://jwoc2007.orienteering.asn.au/TrainingInformation/TrainingCamp1/ .

As the camp is the first official training camp for the Junior World Championships (JWOC) later in 2007, 6-13 July at Dubbo , New South Wales , this trip is also part of New Zealand 's build up for the championships.

If you are interested in taking part please contact Beverley Holder as soon as possible as there are many administration details that need to be put in place right now.

If you are not currently in the NZOF Development Squad, please also contact Neil Kerrison expressing your wish to be considered for inclusion in the squad for 2007.

And if you were born after 1987 and are interested in being considered for selection for JWOC you should also register your interest with the Convenor of the NZOF Selection Panel, Marquita Gelderman.

Beverley estimates the trip will cost about $3000 each, including
1. Your return airfares to Australia
2. Your entry fees for the five day competition
3. Your costs for accommodation, food and domestic travel in Australia
4. Any camp fee on top of that (for the training camp).

The NZOF will be contributing $4,000 towards the trip (to be shared by the participants) meaning that you will need to finance the remaining costs yourself. Also ask your club what support they might consider.

At this stage, DO NOT BOOK ANY AIRFARES, just e-mail Beverley that you are interested.
