2008 Canadian Orienteering Championships
Fellow Orienteers,
On behalf of the organizers of the 2008 Canadian
Orienteering Championships, we would request that you forward this message to
orienteering clubs and enthusiastic individuals in your country, who may want
to enjoy the experience of participating in our truly unique National
Championships and associated events this August. Detailed information can be
obtained on our web site, http://www.orienteering.nb.ca/coc2008/. Those that decide to
participate will have the opportunity to:
- compete in 7
different events (3 sprints, 2 middle and 2 long distance);
- ompete on the ocean floor at low tide at famous attraction;
- Hopewell Rocks
(daily tides up to 17 m, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bay_of_Fundy)
- enjoy
our delicious Atlantic lobster (or steak) at our banquet;
- participate in two WRE races, a sprint and a middle distance;
- compete against the, so far, following committed participants in the COC
2008 WRE events:
- Norway's double World Champion Holger Hott;
- Sweden's World Championship medal winner Katarina Smith; and
- the best ever
Canadian performer in a World Championship, 9th place finisher Sandy
Hott.
